Bing Ying Poon
Jessica Bing Ying Poon is a PhD student on the organization and management track of the health policy program at the University of California in Berkeley. She received her BA with honors from UC Berkeley where she studied decision-making from biological and philosophical perspectives. These questions took her to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York where she worked on health outcomes research regarding medical decisions with Dr. Andrew Vickers. Here, she also led a team that provided surgeons with personalized quality assurance feedback and provided interdepartmental consulting on workflow changes. She is currently pursuing her research interests in decision-making, culture and communication under the guidance of Dr. Stephen Shortell and Dr. Hector Rodriguez.
