Bing Ying Poon
Jessica is a PhD candidate on the organization and management track of the health policy program at the University of California in Berkeley. She received her BA with honors from UC Berkeley where she studied decision-making from biological and philosophical perspectives. These questions took her to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York where she worked on health outcomes research regarding medical decisions with Dr. Andrew Vickers. Here, she also managed a team to design and implement a quality assurance program for surgeons. As part of this service, she provided interdepartmental consulting on workflow changes. She is currently back at Cal pursuing her research interests in medical decision-making, patient engagement and organizational culture under the guidance of Dr. Stephen Shortell and Dr. Hector Rodriguez. In her spare time, she likes to try as many hobbies as possible.
